Educational centers

The free education centers of the “Alef” initiative are considered a key point in providing support and education for orphaned children, children of needy families, the displaced and children in areas that have been exposed to war conflicts. These centers aim to create an appropriate educational environment that helps children complete their academic journey and develop their abilities. Here are more details about the free education centers:

  1. Location and spread: 7 educational centers have been opened so far, 3 in Baghdad Governorate, 2 in Anbar Governorate, 1 in Salah al-Din Governorate, and 1 in Dhi Qar Governorate. The locations of these centers are chosen based on the urgent need and in response to the needs of vulnerable groups in those areas.
  1. Reception and number: These centers receive more than 1,000 children annually. Children are selected according to specific criteria for orphans, children of needy families, displaced persons, and children deprived of education due to war conflicts.
  1. Educational services: The centers provide comprehensive educational services for children. Age-appropriate educational programs and curricula are provided, including basic education, academic skills, language, mathematics and science.
  1. Psychosocial support: The centers provide psychosocial support for children. Psychological counseling and counseling is provided to help promote mental health and social adjustment for children who suffer from psychological difficulties as a result of the difficult experiences they have gone through.
  1. Follow-up of the educational process: The centers are interested in following up the educational process of children, including monitoring their school attendance and academic performance. School attendance is encouraged and necessary support is provided for academic excellence.

In general, Alef Free Education Centers work to provide a stimulating learning environment and help beneficiary children achieve their academic and personal potential. These centers are an important opportunity to improve the lives of vulnerable groups and enhance their opportunities in the future.

The Alef Initiative was established in 2017 and is an initiative that works to support vulnerable groups in Iraqi society by providing free education to orphaned children, children of needy families, and displaced persons, in addition to children living in areas that have been subjected to war conflicts. The initiative also aims to provide job opportunities for young people of the same category in the education sector. The initiative is registered as one of the initiatives of the Bonyan Organization for Development and Education in Iraq. Bonyan Organization for Development and Education is a non-governmental organization registered with the Iraqi Department of Non-Governmental Organizations under the number (1SE2204022)​
